It’s all fun and games when you’re in a new relationship and can’t wait to share it with the world, but what happens when your best friend tries to start something with the person you just started dating? In his new play, “Do You Trust Your Best Friend?,” Derrell Lawrence tackles the common issue. The cast of the play joined Roland Martin on “NewsOne Now” to give their thoughts on what happens when your friend gets too close to your spouse.

When I sat down with Derrell Lawrence, I had no idea of how humble, down-to-earth, and inspirational he was. Going through the death of his sister, Lakeesha, shaped him into discovering his talents of writing and directing. His first movie, "Life Isn't Fair," earned him many awards, including The Highest Achievement for New Filmmaker, The Silver Award, and The People's Choice Award. Derrell has worked with many talented actors and actresses that include Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, Christopher Williams--just to name a few. Derrell gives us a hint
of what to expect when watching his new stageplay, "Do You Trust Your Best Friend?" and upcoming film,
"Must Be The Music."
